What Will You Be Remembered For?

“Remember me, O my God, for good.” —Nehemiah 13:31

Today is Memorial Day… A day to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom we enjoy in America. This is also a good time to consider how we will be remembered after we’ve been gone.

A man by the name of Milt Rood worked for many years as a car salesman in Spokane, WA. He was also very active with the Union Gospel Mission, working with juvenile delinquents. Week by week, he would patiently teach them the Word of God and pray with them and for them.

One day Milt Rood went into the hospital for exploratory surgery. The doctors found he was full of cancer. He died a week later.

At his funeral person after person stood to testify how Milt Road had helped them find Jesus. After the funeral, a friend remarked, “It’s interesting that at the funeral no one ever asked, ‘How many cars he sold.’”

What will YOU be remembered for?
